Senior Services

V.I.P. - Senior & Physically Handicapped Van Service

The V.I.P. is a van service for seniors and physically disabled residents of Londonderry Township that provides transportation to doctor/hospital appointments, grocery stores, or places that they can’t otherwise get to. (The van does not have a wheelchair lift, residents must be able to get in/out of the van without assistance.)  There is no charge for this service, but donations are appreciated to help pay for the maintenance, upkeep and the purchase of a new van when it becomes necessary in the future.

If you, or someone you know, could use some help with transportation and would like more information on this service, please call 317-3402 between 10:00am-12:00pm, Mon. - Fri.

Volunteers Needed

If you have a few hours each month and a heart for helping others the V.I.P. may be something you would enjoy being involved in. Currently we are in need of drivers to take the client to and from their appointments using the VIP minivan.

Please consider helping our growing population of elderly residents by calling the VIP Office at 317-3402 for information on how you can help.

Meals-On-Wheels is an all-volunteer organization that delivers meals to residents who are in need of and qualify for this service. It not only provides a meal to someone shut-in their home, but it is an opportunity for them to have a kind friend to say hello to and talk with. If you have a vehicle and can give just one day per week, or per month to help those in need please don’t hesitate to contact the office.

For more information on this service, or to become a volunteer, please call Louise Morgan, Coordinator, at 944-6518.

Londonderry Lionettes

Londonderry Lionettes is an organization of women who perform community service projects. The organization began with 11 charter members in 1981 and remains steady with 25 current members from Londonderry Township and the surrounding area. Service projects have extended beyond Londonderry Township to neighboring communities, as well as assisting hurricane victims in the South, care packages for our troops in Iraq, American Red Cross, and many others. The group meets the first Wednesday of the month (with the exception of July and August) at 7:00 p.m. at Londonderry Elementary School. For information about the Lionettes call Mary Lingle at 944-5120.
